Join us for a talk with World Bank retiree Diana Corbin about her quest for the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. Diana Corbin is very likely the first Bank retiree and staff member to have completed the Triple Crown. Having previously completed an epic swim of more than 17 hours from Catalina Island to the California mainland, and then a swim  around Manhattan Island in nine and a half hours, Diana took on the challenge of swimming the English Channel in 2019. She will talk about her swimming experiences and eventual success in joining an elite club of 226 people who have achieved the triple crown.

“Nothing great is easy.” — Captain Matthew Webb

About the speaker:

Diana Corbin joined the Bank in 1996 and retired in 2019. She first worked in the Operations Evaluation Department (now Independent Evaluation Group) for six years then in Trust Fund Quality and Compliance and finally Energy and Extractives Global Practice.
