The session will give 1818 Society members a chance to meet the new Director of the Governance Practice, to hear a bit about what the practice is doing and how he hopes to take it forward. It will also offer the chance to share 1818 Society Members perspectives on the Bank’s governance work.
Before returning to the World Bank as Director of the Global Governance Practice, Arturo was Secretary of FInance and Public Credit for Mexico. Arturo had previously served as Assistant Secretary in the same office. Prior to his time in Mexico, Arturo worked at the World Bank as the Governance Practice Manager in East Asia and as Public Sector Manager in Latin America and the Caribbean. From 2000-2006, he served as Secretary of Finances for Mexico City. Arturo has degrees from Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (BA), El Colegio de Mexico (MA) and NYU.
