Launch of Community Connections Campaign

The World Bank Group has launched its annual Community Connections Campaign (CCC). As you know, it is an opportunity for staff and retirees (and surviving spouses) to make donations to a list of participating organizations and have your gifts matched by the World Bank Group. This year, the CCC runs between Monday, November 1 and Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Last year, retirees helped the CCC reach another record-breaking number of donations. Over 500 retirees donated a total of just under $2 million (without corporate match), making an incredible impact in an unprecedented year. This year, the World Bank Group will once again match your contributions by 100%, doubling the value of your donation (up to an individual donor limit of $20,000). The matching of pledges allows the 400+ CCC partner organizations to leverage their work on the escalating challenges in our world, including COVID-19 consequences, responses to racial injustice, and disasters driven by climate change. We encourage you to take advantage of this added benefit and to make your pledges early in the campaign.

Retirees can access the CCC alongside their other WBG retirement benefits via the Pension Portal using their retiree login credentials:|

  1. Go to pension.worldbank.org.
  2. Log-in using your credentials.
  3. Go to ‘Retiree Portal’.
  4. Click on ‘Donation Matching’ (If this is your first time donating to the CCC, you will be asked to confirm consent for your CCC Benevity account to be created. Account creation takes 24 hrs).
  5. Click on ‘Donate Now’ to be taken to the CCC platform.
  6. Search for organizations by name or EIN, select your preferred organization, and click ‘Donate Now’ to submit your donation.
