The Role of Hydrogen in the Energy Transition

A joint presentation by the Energy TG and Social & Environment TG

The presentation will describe the various forms of hydrogen, designated by their source feedstock and methods of production. It will highlight the potential for Blue Hydrogen, given its superior attributes in terms of technological readiness, cost, carbon neutrality and suitability as fuel for power generation, all forms of transportation and industrial applications. It will give emphasis to the key feature: Natural Gas can be a source of carbon-free fuel. Some brief examples will be given of countries which have already committed to Blue Hydrogen strategies (Japan, Norway, Saudi Arabia).
