A Presentation by the Members Helping Members Group

One of the ongoing tasks of Members Helping Members (MHM) has been to update and rework the Handbook for Advance Planning by Retirees and Families for end of life planning. From this document we extracted what we have called the Sample Checklist for Advance Planning, which enables one to keep in one place the information necessary for one’s loved ones, such as Credit Union/Bank details, passwords, Will etc. These documents are available on the 1818 website, under “member resources” then “aging resources” (login required).

Some of us have struggled to overcome our own resistance and inertia in compiling the information. During this workshop we will share experiences completing the document, including ways of helping one another to do so, and discussing the contents with loved ones. We will invite participants to share their stories too, so we can all learn from one another.
