The 1818 Society’s Tax and Immigration Committee is pleased to invite you to an online WebEx seminar on U.S. Federal Income Taxes and Foreign Financial Asset Reporting. The seminar will be of primary interest to members of the Society who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Mr. Dale W. Mason, CPA, is the Founder of Dale Mason, CPA & Co. (Website: www.dalemasoncpa.com), which advises international organization staff and retirees, U.S. expatriates and other clients on international and domestic tax matters. Prior to establishing his firm in 2019, Dale acquired many years of experience practising international tax consultancy work in Central Europe, California and Washington, DC with global accounting firms including Arthur Anderson, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and KPMG. He has been a featured speaker at seminars hosted by the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations.

TOPICS OF DISCUSSION:
The seminar will focus particularly on: (i) recent tax developments affecting U.S. personal income taxes; (ii) the preparation of U.S. Federal income tax returns for 2020; (iii) reporting the Bank SRP pension and other foreign financial accounts and assets on Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets); and (iv) reporting foreign financial accounts on FinCEN Form 114 (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR)). Time permitting, the seminar may also provide a brief update on the U.S. Exit Tax (expatriation tax) which may possibly affect a U.S. citizen who renounces U.S. nationality or a U.S. permanent resident who terminates U.S. residency.
