In Memoriam

Manuel A. Rodrigues (1942-2025)

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Manuel Rodrigues passed away after a battle with dementia.

He was the proud father of two sons, Rui and Eddie, daughters in law Lori and Erin, and granddaughters Rebecca and Amalia. He is also survived by his sisters, Helena and Alice, and many nieces and nephews.

Manuel was born October 2, 1942 in Portugal to Augusto and Carolina Rodrigues. In 1971, he emigrated to the US where he received a bachelor’s degree from Pacific Western University as well as paralegal degree from Antioch Law School. He proudly worked for the Legal Department at the World Bank for 31 years, remaining active with the World Bank’s 1818 Society after his retirement.

Everyone who knew Manuel understands his love of dancing and karaoke. He would never go far without a harmonica in his pocket, and even in his last days would play songs for the care members in his assisted living community.

Manuel had a passion for life and a smile and a joke for everyone he met. He will be sorely missed.
