The City Walking Group (CWG) was started in 2024, for people interested in moderate 3-5 mile walks with fellow retirees, in the many glorious parks of the Washington DMV area. The walks are typically on easy trails with little elevation. They are held about once a month, and often end with a shared meal in a local restaurant or picnic ground. This enables our participants to enjoy the outdoors in the company of like-minded retirees.
We strictly observe park rules, especially the “Leave No Trace Behind” rule, to allow others to enjoy the trails as much as we do.

Please choose walks suitable for your physical abilities. By joining, you agree that walk leaders, coordinators, and the 1818 Society are not liable for any incidents related to City Walk Group activities.
Dogs are not permitted on CWG walks, as they may increase the risk of falls, especially for our less agile participants.
