Rethinking Long-Term Medications: A Practical Workshop on Polypharmacy and Healthy Aging

April 28 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Event Navigation

Sponsored by the Health, Nutrition and Population Thematic Group

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet Dr. Mikhael Kogan in person. He will be joining us on-site, offering a rare chance to engage with him up close, ask questions directly, and take part in a more personal, interactive conversation on healthy aging.
We strongly encourage attending in person to fully benefit from this experience. Participants will also be able to join via Webex.

Through a conversation-driven format with real-time Q&A, participants will explore the growing challenge of polypharmacy—particularly the long-term use of acid reflux medications, pain medications, and sleeping pills. The session will provide an evidence-based overview of safe, physician-guided deprescribing principles, while emphasizing root-cause approaches to common symptoms.

Participants will leave with practical strategies and communication tools to support thoughtful reassessment of medication use within their healthcare teams.

This workshop is intended for educational purposes and to support informed discussions with healthcare providers. Participants are encouraged to work with their own physician and should not make changes to medications independently.
